Terms of use
Last updated 2 October 2026
The agreement
These terms are between you and Tim Johnson (United Kingdom), who runs Jym. They are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales can hear disputes, and you can still bring a claim in your home part of the UK where the law gives you that right.
By using Jym you agree to these terms and the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Fitness only, not medical advice
Jym counts push-ups and comments on form. It is a fitness tracker, not a doctor, a coach with a qualification, or a medical device. Nothing in the app is medical advice.
You exercise at your own risk. Stop if you feel pain, dizziness, or anything else that tells you to stop. Get advice from a professional before you train if you are unsure whether push-ups are safe for you.
Rep counts and form notes can be wrong. Lighting, the camera angle, and how you are framed all affect the count. Do not rely on a number as a measure of health.
Acceptable use
Use Jym for yourself, in a way that does not harm other people or the service. You must not:
- use a display name that is offensive, or that pretends to be someone else
- try to break, overload, or get into another person’s account
- upload anything through the service that you do not have the right to share
We may change a public display name, remove someone from the leaderboard, or close an account that breaks these rules. The name on the board comes from the name on your Google or X account. Your email is not shown.
Free and Pro
You can count one set a day for free. A demo set does not count towards that. Without an account, that limit is on the phone you are using. With an account, it follows the account.
Jym Pro is a subscription: 6 US dollars a month, or 29 US dollars a year, paid through Stripe. Checkout may show that same price in your local currency. Pro removes the daily cap and unlocks the coach and set recordings. It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then shown, until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from Manage billing. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
The 14-day cancellation right
If you are a consumer in the UK, you can cancel a new subscription within 14 days of starting it and ask for a refund, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
Pro is a digital service that starts as soon as payment succeeds. At checkout we ask you to agree that this 14-day right ends once you use a Pro feature: an extra set beyond the free one, the coach, or a recording. If you do not agree, do not continue to payment. If you agree, and you have not used a Pro feature, you can still cancel within 14 days for a refund by emailing [CONTACT_EMAIL].
Changes, and stopping
We may change how Jym works, the free limit, or these terms. If a change is material we will update the date on this page. If you keep using Jym after that, the new terms apply. The price of a period you have already paid does not change until renewal.
You can stop using Jym whenever you like, and you can delete an account from the training page. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We can also withdraw the service. If we withdraw Pro before a paid period ends, we will refund the unused part of that period.
Liability
Jym is provided as it is. We do not promise that a count will be accurate, that the app will be available all the time, or that training with it will be safe for you.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law of England and Wales does not allow us to exclude.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for claims arising out of Jym in a year is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 pounds if you have not paid us.
